About Health Professions

In addition to physicians, there are myriads of professionals who care for the sick and assist the elderly or physically challenged individuals. Together these individuals work as a team to assist physicians and nurses in providing patients with superior healthcare. These health professionals include nutritionists, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists.

Our primary function is the academic preparation of health professionals at various levels: baccalaureate, master's and doctorate. Clinical training facilities and teaching hospitals are readily available to help put into practice what our students learn in the classroom. Our student's opportunities at Georgia State University make clinical work a true learning experience.
